In recognition of his experience and long standing record of leadership, Senate Republican Leader Jean Fuller and members of the Republican Caucus selected Senator Jim Nielsen to be their Caucus Chairman.

“Given the importance of the issues and challenges confronting our state, I’m honored to be selected by my colleagues to serve as Caucus Chairman,” said Senator Jim Nielsen (R-Gerber). “I am enthusiastic about continuing to work closely with Leader Fuller and Republican senators to advocate for the issues that will best serve the people of California."

The Caucus Chairman, along with the Republican Leader, manages the policy direction, issues and communications for Senate Republicans. In addition, Senator Nielsen will continue to oversee the fiscal and policy operations of the Senate Republicans' professional consultants.

“Senator Nielsen is an experienced, well-respected and accomplished member of the California Legislature. I know he will serve us well and do a great job as Caucus Chairman,” said Senate Republican Leader Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield).

Elected to the State Senate in January 2013, Senator Nielsen represents the Fourth Senate District, which includes the counties of Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Placer, Sacramento, Sutter, Tehama and Yuba. To view his biography in its entirety, please click here.
