Senate Republicans Ask Governor to Work in Bi-partisan Manner for Drought Relief

GOP encourage project development and incentives before penalties
Monday, May 11, 2015

In a letter to Governor Jerry Brown, Senate Republicans thank him for leadership in bringing water and conservation efforts to the forefront of California’s policy priorities.

The letter asks for the following:

  • Expedite bond dollars where possible
  • Support Senate Bill 127 (Vidak) to streamline review for all water projects funded by the water bond
  • Define due process rights. Disagree with proposal to “deputize staff to issue water conservation-related warnings and citations” to issue “fines of up to $10,000 per violation”
