Assemblyman Jim Nielsen (R-Gerber) released the following statement on the passing of State Senator Dave Cox (R-Fair Oaks), who succumbed Tuesday after battling prostate cancer for the past 13 years.

"California has lost a truly great leader, one who has a made a significant mark on local government and on the state of California.  Dave was a friend and an esteemed colleague; one who will be dearly missed by all.  Marilyn and I extend our sympathies and prayers to Mrs. Cox and their family.  He will live in our hearts forever."
